Duane has played guitar all his life, but a while back took up the bass
in a serious way, studying for a time with the great NoVa bassist Brad
Dietz. Duane's performing experience covers a wide range of musical
genres, including acoustic Americana, bluegrass, mountain gospel,
coffeehouse acoustic rock, classic rock, blues and country. He believes
strongly in the root-5 principle, and endorses the universal advice for
bass players: "If you're lost, just play chromatic."
